What is included in the SMR Membership?An Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA) General Membership* Savy Mountain Riders Swag Voting rights (for adults of minors) at the Savy Mountain Riders AGM ​ *ABA MEMBERSHIP is only required once/person/year.

What do I need to bring on a ride?Your bike in good working condition Helmet (required for ALL riders) Biking gloves (highly recommended) Water bottle or hydration pack Spare tube Sunglasses/Eyewear for protection Sunscreen/Bug Spray Closed Footwear (No sandals) Athletic Riding Clothing (Consider Shorts or pants snug around the ankles) Be sure to bring appropriate clothing so that you’re as dry, warm, and as comfortable as possible. Our rides are occasionally cancelled due to weather.

Do you have a club membership subsidy program?Glad you asked! Yes we do. We have set aside a limited amount of funding to help those who otherwise wouldn't be able to participate in our club due to finances. ​ Applications are reviewed and subsidies given based on the following criteria. - Available subsidy funds. - The expressed need. - A completed application from each applicant. ​ Feel free to contact us for more information. What methods of payment do you accept?Registration is through the Alberta Bicycle Association Zone4 webpage.

What are your Coach's qualifications?Our coaching qualifications vary. Some coaches are working on or have completed their NCCP Coaching certificates as well as PMBIA Instructor certification. The SMR club aims to be able to provide our members with excellent coaching by providing subsidies for our coaches towards quality training as opportunities come up and funding is available. All of the coaches that work with minors are required to clear a vulnerability/background police check.

If your organization is interested in helping us build up coaches, run more events or acquire more fun tools to help our learning environment, we welcome sponsorship.
